NEW! Beyond Land Acknowledgement Fund
The Fund offers organizations, institutions and governments that are making land acknowledgement statements a practical way to turn words into action.
General Operating Fund
ILTF’s General Operating Fund helps to sustain a broad range of programs that support ILTF’s mission to assist Indian nations and people in the recovery of their rightful homelands.
Bear Butte Land Recovery Fund
The Fund helps support the recovery of 270 acres of culturally significant Indian land near the Bear Butte monument in South Dakota by the tribes that have a cultural and religious connection to the holy site.
Estate Planning and Probate Fund
ILTF supports estate planning as one of the most effective ways to stop the continued division of Indian land titles. The Fund helps empower tribes and individual landowners to protect their land assets and preserve economic and cultural resources.
He Sapa Land Recovery Fund
The He Sapa Land Recovery Fund was established in 2023 by members of the Sinykin family, descendants of homesteaders who received free land from the U.S. government in South Dakota and settled there between 1900 and 1915. Contributions help to return Indian lands in the Black Hills (He Sapa) to Indian ownership and control.
Indian Country Cooperative Extension Fund
The Fund supports efforts by the Federally-Recognized Tribes Extension Program (FRTEP) to provide important community outreach programs that are focused on agricultural productivity, youth development and healthier communities.
Indian Land Capital Company Fund
ILCC assists tribes in their efforts to consolidate and increase their land bases by providing financing to Indian nations for tribal land acquisition. Contributions assist tribes in their efforts to reclaim and consolidate their aboriginal land bases and engage in strategic land planning.
Land Recovery Fund
ILTF’s Land Recovery Fund assists tribal nations with land acquisition, economic growth and self-governance.
Lessons of Our Land Fund
The Fund supports the Lessons of Our Land K-12 curriculum that gives educators the opportunity to incorporate relevant materials about American Indian land tenure into pre-existing curriculum while satisfying state and federal educational requirements.
Margie Hutchinson Trust for Indian Land
The Margie Hutchinson Trust for Indian Land was established in 2007 by ILTF board member Margie Hutchinson to further ILTF’s charitable purposes and to benefit the community served by ILTF.
Mato Sapa Fund
The Mato Sapa Fund was established to honor the long service of ILTF founding board member Ben Black Bear, Jr. The Fund helps advance ILTF’s primary mission of returning reservation lands to Indian ownership and control.
National Indian Carbon Coalition Fund
The Fund helps tribes and individual Indian landowners understand carbon credits, sequestration processes and carbon markets, helping Indian people to maintain control of their assets, use carbon credit profits to empower their families and communities, and preserve the environment.
National Tribal Land Association Fund
The Fund helps tribal land professionals have opportunities to enhance their professional skills, increase knowledge and improve day-to-day work with landowners, the tribe and federal entities. ILTF is fiscal agent for NTLA.
Native Land Law Fund
The Native Land Law Fund supports ILTF’s efforts to reform the legal mechanisms related to recapturing the physical, cultural and economic assets for Indian people and strengthening the sovereignty of Indian land.
Pe’Sla Recovery Fund
The Fund supports the return of the sacred site Pe’Sla in the Black Hills of South Dakota to the tribes of the Lakota Nation, ensuring that the Lakota people can protect and access the land known as ‘The Heart of Everything.’
Racine Land Investment Fund
Founded by long-time ILTF board member Ross Racine in 2006, the Fund supports programs that build strong tribal economies and ensure tribal self-determination.
Spirit of Sovereignty Fund
The Fund provides scholarships for deserving Native American students at 37 tribal colleges across the country. It also supports the Native Children’s Holiday Program, which provides gifts and food for Indian children during the holidays.
Treaty Signers Fund
The Fund helps to advance research and develop multi-media educational tools about the non-Indian signers of treaties between the United States government and tribal nations.
Virgil and Lynette Dupuis Land Capital Fund
The Virgil and Lynette Dupuis Land Capital Fund was established in 2007 by then-ILTF board chair Virgil Dupuis to further ILTF’s charitable purposes and to benefit the community served by the Foundation.
Swit Palx (Pretty Dress) Fund
Created in 2012 by former ILTF board member John Sirois, the Fund serves to further ILTF’s charitable purposes and to benefit the community served by the Foundation.
Stainbrook Mazaska Makoce Fund
Founded in 2016 by ILTF President Cris Stainbrook, the Fund was created to help further ILTF’s charitable purposes and to support small, risky land projects in Indian Country.
Patricia A. Chase Fund
The Patricia A. Chase Fund was established in 2016 by long-time ILTF staff member Pat Chase to further ILTF’s charitable purposes and benefit the community served by ILTF.
Tribal Land Staff National Conference Fund
The Fund helps offset expenses for the national conference for tribal land professionals, including contracted services, printing of educational materials, audio-visual needs, food and beverage expenses and speaker honorariums.
Rock Creek Fund
The Fund supports the return of the buffalo to Indian Country through a community herd in the Rock Creek District, an area of nearly one million acres on the Standing Rock Reservation.
Starlight Fund
Created in 2017 by former ILTF board member Dawn Batiste, the Fund serves to further ILTF’s charitable purposes and to benefit the community served by the Foundation.
David And Julie Baker Scholarship Fund
The David And Julie Baker Scholarship Fund was established in 2019 by ILTF board member David Baker to further ILTF’s charitable purpose and to benefit the community served by ILTF.
Hiller Boss Farmer Fund
The Hiller Boss Farmer Fund was established in 2018 by ILTF board member Joe Hiller to further ILTF’s charitable purposes and to benefit the community served by ILTF.
Native Land Legal Research
The Native Land Legal Research Fund was established in 2020 by Mark Van Norman to further ILTF’s charitable purpose by supporting legal research into the history and current state of law regarding Indian land.
Rocket Group Fund
The Rocket Group Fund was established in 2020 by ILTF board member Bryan Maracle to further ILTF’s charitable purpose and to benefit the community served by ILTF.
SKE Education and Individual Assistance Fund
The SKE Education and Individual Assistance Fund was established in 2015 by ILTF board member Staci Emm to further ILTF’s charitable purpose and to benefit the community served by ILTF.
Webster “Bye” Barsness
The Webster “Bye” Barsness Fund was established in 2017 by ILTF investment committee member Bye Barsness to further ILTF’s charitable purpose and to benefit the community served by ILTF.
Buffalo Nations Grasslands Association
The Buffalo Nations Grasslands Association’s mission is to ensure that 15 Native Nations in the Northern Great Plains have technical and financial resources to realize conservation efforts.
